Attendance:
October’s Attendance goal for South Canyon was 94% and we REACHED our goal! Way to go South Canyon!!! Let’s keep it up! November goal – let’s get to 95%!
Reminders: if your student is out for medical reasons, please provide a doctor’s note when applicable, so that if those absences accumulate, we will have those on file. We call families whenever a student is absent and has not already been excused. If we do not hear back from you about your student’s absence, then it will be marked as unexcused. 8 unexcused absences will result in a Truancy referral to the States Attorney’s office. A reminder that you may call 394-1801 at any time and leave a message if it is after hours. You may also email: RapidCitySCOffice@k12.sd.us, Dojo message, or send a note with your student.
Parking/Traffic: We are still seeing a lot of you parking your cars the WRONG direction –respect traffic rules and stay on your side of the street. It creates an unsafe situation when you pull across the road and park on the other side. Please take a few extra moments to find a safe spot to park. Also, please help your children remember to use the crosswalk – sometimes it’s easier to cut across the street where you’re parked but please take the extra time to use a crosswalk and help keep everyone safe. Thank you!
Have a great weekend!
